The video is a edited capture of a live performance of virtual theatre in side second life, everything is played in realtime. Specially the end is cool, where to theatre gets totally destroyed by a bot. The story is about the thoughts of an AFK bot, who ain’t exaclty happy with his life as a bot.

La seconda vita di Second Life riparte dai banchi. È nelle aule universitarie che si cela il nuovo successo del mondo virtuale, finito in sordina per via delle più recenti applicazioni on line e dei più moderni social network.

La nuova frontiera dell´istruzione infatti passa attraverso gli avatar della Linden Lab inventati nel 2003. Nell´universo tridimensionale del web in cui ognuno può rinascere sotto nome e vesti inedite, seguire le lezioni accademiche e sostenere gli esami non è più impossibile, anche a Bari.

Hope for the deaf?

As you may remember, I’m critical of the the changes voice is bringing to the grid, particularly its move to disenfranchise the deaf, just like IRL. But, there is a new system out there that might help eventually. It’s not ready for SL yet – it will require quite a lot of work to be ready for SL, because the control over avatar’s hands is not good enough at the moment and I don’t think expressive puppeteering, when we finally get it, will add it either, not at first.
