In un momento in cui Second Life sta perdendo attrattiva le sperimentazioni artistiche nel mondo virtuale continuano: Berardo Carboni, già regista di Shooting Silvio, dirige il primo lungometraggio girato nel mondo della LindenLab. Un film che passerà sia in rete che sul grande schermo.

VolaVola\FlyMe è il nome del film che vede il regista italiano Berardo Carboni – Finally Outlander l’alter ego in pixel – sdoppiarsi: una sola sceneggiatura ma due film identici, girati a Roma e su Second Life. Avremo Alessandro Haber, celebre attore italiano, che oltre a recitare come suo solito avrà anche un avatar a sua immagine per la versione virtuale. Poi ci sarà Aimee Weber, forse l’avatar più famoso del mondo, che interpreta se stessa e avrà una controparte in carne ed ossa. Per finire, l’attrice newyorkese Bibbe Hansen reciterà e animerà in prima persona anche il suo avatar. È un film d’amore e descrivere gli aspetti della vita contemporanea attraverso gli occhi di tre coppie cresciute in epoche differenti. La sceneggiatura è scritta insieme a Mario Gerosa, guru dei mondi virtuali e per la realizzazione del film si è ricorso ad un metodo di lavoro aperto: un sito myspace e un gruppo su facebook per invitare le persone a collaborare.

VOLAVOLA: BIRTH OF A GENRE
Il nuovo film di Berardo Carboni (Premio Miglior Regia al Gallio Film Festival per “Shooting Silvio” 20th century fox)
è girato anche nella modalità completamente “second life” detta MACHINIMA.

Volavola is about the relationship between man, happiness and time, it’s about emotions getting weak and the need not to get lost in habits, the need to keep searching, it’s also about the natural decline of love and the need to protect it, to keep it alive.

VolaVola investigates how it gets more and more difficult to determine what is real and what is fake. In the two movies indeed we will find at the same time real avatars and real people will act just acting themselves and fantasy characters.

Volavola’s main them is the values of digital society as an important human heritage analysing it from a sociological (although vaguely surreal) point of you, and not from a futuristic one, and considering them as one of the few things to protect in order to make the world a better place to live.

Volavola takes place in the real world, in Rome, where, as everywhere now, more and more often it happens to bump into places and people from another universe.
