This exhibit opens at 11:30 a.m. SLT on Sunday, November the 16th and brings to you numerous works of art with a wide variety of unique Second Life art, including several one-of- a- kind pieces from various artists. The Museum is an amazing work of architectural art created by NMC’s CJ Carnot. When settings are turned to midnight, you will notice the subtle changes in hues on the building, and will be awestruck by the beauty and design.
This month three artists will be showcased on the second floor of the museum. The featured artists include French artist, vroum Short as well as Italian artist’s shellina Winkler and Solkide Auer.
vroum Short- Joining SL in November 2007, vroum wanted her second life to take place in a creative universe.
Surrounded with all her friends, she created Vegetal Planet, a world where all becomes possible and attainable, where the barriers of the real life become less marked, and let her imagination flood it with life.
Through her creations, Vroum attempts to leave aside of the real things, those that ruin our imagination, assassinate our desires, and trap the source of inspiration that runs into ourselves.
shellina Winkler-shellina initially joined the SL community out of curiosity; and wanted to check the potential of education in the metaverse via self-training. After looking at other avatars’ works she decided to put building first and the creation of works of art became her main goal. Shellina states, “The great versatility of prims gave me the opportunity to try different forms and techniques. At the beginning I mainly created geometrical works; later, I experienced the creation of “prim-paintings” by the application of objects on a board thought as a canvas, using textures in order to create visual effects.”
“Afterwards I focused my attention on “monoprim” maximizing the potential of a single prim trying to obtaining from it, by using textures or merely colours, simple works in their complexity. Every single work sees its birth completely “inworld”. Creativity, passion and the love for shapes and colours generate a work with a meaning inside which is the result of my experiences lived in Second Life enriched, as well, by the fantasy which is the peculiarity of this world.”
Solkide Auer-Solkide joined SL in March of 2007 and states, “After exploring this metaverse far and wide, I realized I wanted to do something that would go beyond the usual rule of structures or classical framing; so I tried to express my ideas through different sculptures. I started creating geometrical shapes then I used more difficult techniques such as “the shade”, which gives the possibility to manipulate a unique prim in a very complex way. As a result I obtained unexpected and different shapes quite unlike the ones anyone can find around.”
“It is clear that I’ve been working hard to get this result trying to get the good ones a and long nights spent trying to understand how to frame at my best some works that could convey an emotion…. even the simplest, and that it could attract people to an idea I had in my mind or just to share my message with them.”
These artists will be on hand to meet and greet visitors and to answer any questions you may have about their art.
The Musician known in SL as Lyndon Heart will perform at 12 p.m. SLT on the stage located just behind the gorgeous Aho Museum. With a vocal style that spans a diverse range of airy-textured ballads, roaring, gritty-edged power rock, reinterpretations of contemporary hits, and avant-garde indie lesser-knowns, George (Lyndon) likes to think his music runs the gamut. As such, his guitar method evolves, incorporates and keeps pace by embracing a range of techniques from intricate open-tuned finger picking and gentle slides to crunchy blues riffs and experimental funk. Lyndon will entertain for one hour; you won’t want to miss his show!
A second musician, Dexter Ihenen will perform at the Aho at 5pm SLT, and will also perform for one hour.
Dexter presents a show based on Live Guitar and vocal that features mainly original material but also showcases adaptations of an array covers & classics.
Beyond this Dexter augments his show with self created backing tracks These are taken from Dexters 6CDs and are instruments that were all played by him in those productions.
These give listeners the ‘Fully Blown’ version of the song rather than the basic acoustic version - but Dexter will keep you guessing changing between the 2.

The exhibit opens at 2:30 p.m. SLT on Sunday, November the 16th and features the artist Ub Yifu. Ub says, “Using Second Life since May 2007, I came here because I wanted to create 3D objects. I started building in a sandbox as everybody does. I first started reproducing some famous paintings in prims, such as; Matisse, Magritte, Picasso, Dali, Degas.
“Since September 2007 I work almost all time on commissioned ones, most of the time people ask me to reproduce some RL statues as a unique piece in SL.”
The exhibition at Ars Simulacra is made up of mostly one-of-a-kind and commissioned pieces that Ub has created for others. This is a unique opportunity to see the pieces that you may not get to see, as the grid grows larger and larger.
At 3:00 p.m. SLT, Hathead Rickenbacker will perform on a stage located just to the south of the sim. Hathead performs live on keyboards, creating rich tapestries of music and sound in real time, every performance exploring new fusions of jazz, blues, electronica and world music.
